EventHQ (Check-in & Finish Area) is at the rear of Alpine Lodge.
Andrew Barker will welcome crew and give out Hi-vis, radios, 1stAid, equipment as required.
All volunteers should provide the personal items needed for their role and weather on the day; wet weather gear, jacket, appropriate footwear, hat, sunscreen, sufficient food and water. Tail End Charlies will also need a polypropylene or equivalent top, hat, gloves, day pack of at least 15L capacity and a whistle and emergency blanket for personal use. You will be provided with any role specific gear.
Crew - Rob Kay and Graeme Andrews
-Take radio & 1st Aid Kit, water, cups, jug, bin, bin-bag, table, Hi-Vis, MTB sign.
-Be in position and have the Water Station set up ready for the first runners around 9:25am.
-Water station 50m before turn off to avoid crowding of turn off and runner separation.
-Bin & no cups sign placed just before turn off (at bird sound post?)
-Manage separation of Half Runners (black bibs) & 13km Runners(yellow bib)
-Send 13km runners (yellow bibs) down Kākā & send Half runners (black bibs) straight ahead along Big Bush Ridge.
-As TECs approach, keep a note of the time gaps between the last few runners.
-Fully support any decisions made by Frainey the TEC Trail Captain if Half runners need to be diverted down Kākā due to insufficient progress.
-After both Half & 13km TECs have passed (check which event TECs are tailing as they pass), clear all rubbish & signs and return via Kākā.
-Carry signs, tape, treadins to nearest road crossing and leave for later pick up.
